Meeting with the models.

On friday we met up with our models in one of the study rooms to take them through what our ideas were for the shoot and also give them an idea of what they would look like. We showed them the blog and printed out an itinary list of the models times to come and what they should wear and bring to the shoot.
The meeting we really successful. We have chosen a variety of different looks from the models. We noticed there was a lot of red heads in the paintings and we have also chsoen blondes as we think we can work with their hair length and complexion the best.

These are the models we have chosen:
 Kasia : 14th Century

 Jennifer: 15th Century

 Sarah : 16th Century

 Adrianna : 17th Century

Cat: 18th Century

Sourcing

These are some of the things that i have started to source for the shoot. No one has been certain things to source, we have all decided to go and find things that we think we might need or could be of good use somewhere in the shoot.
These are some big eye lashes i sourced as we have decided to go really big with the eye lashes.

These are pieces of fabric i found, but i thought they would look really good as gloves? espeically with the gold edges they fit over the hand really well.

This is some floral lace i brought to go over the models eyes to make the lace outline we are looking for by adding the eye shadow over the top. I thought this is really pretty and would fit in with the styles and research we have found already.

This is a selection of coloured ribbons i have which we have decided to use for different things like braiding in the models hair.

This piece of sheer fabric i thought would be good to put over the models head. Or over their face?

This is a selection of make-up i have gathered that we could use on the shoot because the powders are really bright and sparkly and i have a pink and red lipstick also if we decided to change for each model.

18th Century

These images i found on http://www.laracorsets.com/ it shows a range of images of the different styles of hair and clothing throughout the 18th Century. All these iamges will help us to decide the best looks for each Century and really push the styling of hair and make-up to make these images more futuristic and modern with the old twist.

Again these images use the up-do hair with tight long curls down either side of the face. I think these hairstyles look really good and really show the images of the times we are trying to recreate. These up-do hairstyles with also help us to really psuh them make-up and make it really out there and extravagant.

I also really liked this ideas of using the big feathers in the hair. I thought this was really different compared to the other styles and images we have been looking at. I think using a really bright feather that was used in the make-up would make the image fit together better and really stand out.

The jewellery is quite big, full of jewels and pearls. I think in some images we should use the ruff and some iamges we should try and push the jewellery with necklaces, brooches and earrings as we intend to only take portrait photographs from the neckline upwards.

17th Century

These are some paintings and iamges i have found for this Century to give us some more ideas of how they wore their hair and the clothes they wore.

These images show that the hair was often worn up or curly. I really like these tight curls as i associate this style with these past periods in time. The long gowns aare still shown in these images, but there is a lot more jewellery shown here with brooches and pearl earrings. I think these would be good to make the finishing touches to the images.

Ruffles and Viktor & Rolf

From researching ruffles (the idea taken from the images/paintings from each Century when the Queens and ladies wore big gowns and neckpieces) I came across from of these iamges from the designers Viktor and Rolf.

The images are some many different caltwalk collections but inspired when i saw them and are along the same lines as our theme..

This image is more of a lace mask, but you can see the gold neckpiece and how thye have ruffled the fabric to make it.

The high necklines, and fanned shoulders are more of the traditional feel we have been looking at. These are more modern takes on the style, but are the same concept we are trying to achieve.

This dress is really different. But  i really liked the colours, it made me think of a gift/present all wrapped up with the big bow on the side.

This neckpiece is really big, but the black and white works really well. The pulled back hair and the eye shadow around the eyes is the starting point for most of our hair and make-up ideas. The styling aswell feels quite manly as she is wearing a tailored suit but the look has been pulled off really well.

Lace

These are some more make-up ideas using lace as we have decided as a group to use lace on one of the models. We have thought about literally using the lace around the head, or using the lace as a pattern to rub eye shadows over and leave the lace pattern on the face.

This image shows how the lace has been used as a pattern and the eye shadow hs been rubbed over it to leve this patttern. I think the textured effect left on the skin around the eyes is really affective.

This is a Dior Autumn/Winter campaign, here they hve used the lace around the top of the head and slightly covering the eyes.

This effect again is using the lace and eye shadow. The side profile that this photo has been taken from also works well on this idea, as we will only put the lace over one eye.
