Practising the styling

On monday me and Sophie got together with our friend and tried out the styling to make sure the ideas we had so far would work when put together on a model. We have over 8 different looks, but we are hoping the photography students are gunna take both full body shots and close-ups. We have customised some of the accessories, like belts, and headpieces and also the rope for the clock.

These are the different ideas we had for the 8 different looks.

Outfit 1 - Most pattern, full of colour, most colourful make-up.

We tried this outfit both with the blouse underneath and without it. When we have put the 2 tops together we sourced we felt the arms and top half didn't bring enough clashing and colour. We have decided for the shoot we are gunna add black and white stripes, to being the aspect of all the patterns together.

Outfit 2 -Still ful of pattern and mixture of colours. Added customerised leather belt to break up the patterns.

We really liked the clashing patterns again here. It really shows the colourful, imagination we wanted to show that you have when your a younger child before you get into education.

Outfit 3 - Becoming more structured with the fitted jacket. The colours are becoming more toned down. The sequin leggings bring the idea of robotics, again we are using the leather belt and plain tank top.

Outfit 4 - Again toned down colour, only pattern coming through is the sropped structured jacket. We have put it together with wet-look leggings, i feel these leggings bring the shiny, structured movement you get from robots. We have tried it both with the jacket open, just showing the models bra underneath, and closed.

Outfit 5 - Becoming even more structured, leather pants and embroidered flowers and cut-out holes. These outfits are to show the change in people as they go through school. The older and more education you get, the more structured and robotic things become. We have also used the gold leather i brought and made it into a bracelet.

For outfits 6,7 and 8 we didnt take practise shots as we havent decided the final order. We also wanted to change the layout and do close-up shots towards the end. We have a dress shift dress with netting at the top and gold chains for outfit 6. Outfit 7 we have a sequin blazer and top with a gold headpiece i made taken inspiration from Lady Gaga. Outfit 8 with have a straight shift dress covered in sequins.

I feel the styling has gone really well and me and Sophie have really tried to make the outfits portray the narrative and theme. I think the styling will look really good with the spotlight lighting we have decided to go for.
