Dazed and Confused

Stephanie brought the April issue of Dazed and Confused and these are a few of the photoshoots we found inside that would help us with inspiration. Especially the lighting and styling.

Time is Money

Styling: Katie Shillingford

Some of the materials used to make the garments are perfect for a base for our model. We can then add plastics and more robotic materials over the top, to make the framing more harsh and bold. The poses with the elbows out, leaning in towards the camera and them odel making some really bold poses and movements would make some really strong shadows which the bold structured feel we are after.

This was another shoot from th magazine.

These poses are perfect aswell. They are sharp, sturn and give a bold movement. Having the model placed in the centre is a strong pose works really well. We also dont have to photograph from head to toe. These iamges cut off below the waist also work really well. They are close, but show enough detial of the garments and the different textures to show the narrative really well.

I think this shoot is perfect. It exactly what i had thought of when i thought Robotics. The materials used like plastics and bold harsh shapes are exactly what im trying to achieve with the styling. Obviously some of the these outfits we cant recreate, but the basic shapes and shiny materials are the same materials i am trying to source. I think adding the plastic, PVC, Leather and really strong heavy fabrics will help show off our robotic feel. I think adding plastic headpieces and accessories will really bring the shoot to life. We can use basic fitted garments as our basic and then work the heavy or shiny materials on top. The mixture of metalics and shine with clear plastics is exactly robotics.
